Welcome to the Ashby Songwriters web-site. Is there a song in you? Have you written some songs and don’t know where to go from there? Do you write lyrics and need someone to set them to music? Do you have a hankering to perform or record your songs? We might be able to help. We are a group of friends whose common interest is music and songwriting. Ashby Songwriters was formed with the intention of presenting an evening of completely original music, written and performed by ourselves. Our first concert took place on Friday 11th November 2005 at the Venture Theatre in Ashby de la Zouch and was a great success. We also meet informally once a month to share, discuss and possibly perform self-penned songs in a mutually supportive environment.

As well as these monthly meetings we can offer the chance to perform your songs to a live audience at one of our “open-mike” sessions in the area. We are aware of the fact that not all songwriters are keen to perform, and if this is you, there may well be an outlet for your music through other musicians and singers. We also have access to recording equipment and can offer support in the form of back-up instruments, extra vocals and sound engineering as well as encouragement and sound advice. If you are a songwriter, or have a keen interest in original songs, we would like to invite you to come along and join us.
